Prayers for Stellan

Prayers are needed for Stellan, he was admitted to the PICU last night and is not doing very well. He has been intubated (breathing with the aid of a ventilator), and receiving IV meds to try and convert his heart back to normal rhythm. He needs all our prayers, also keep the rest of his family in your prayers as well.

To get more on his story and up-to-date info on his condition go to MckMama' blog, she will be twittering (on the right side of her blog) as much as she can to keep everyone informed of his condition!

Keep praying for this little boy!!!!

  • Post links to the seven blogs you nominate.

  • Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know they've been nominated.

7 Things about me you don't know:

  1. I help teach a Sunday school class for year olds and love it! They are so fun and Baby boy goes with me and they just love him to pieces!

  2. I hate cold weather and would give anything to live somewhere warm all year long (or at least most of the year) but that would mean packing up all my family and taking them with me because I could not stand to be away from them - I am such a mama's girl!!!

  3. I have a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and a paralegal certificate. I LOVE research side law and the forensic side of law but not the boring desk side of it! Right now I am doing the boring desk side of it.....

  4. I cut my hair short about 2 years ago (it was to the middle of my back) and I am just now starting to grow it back out - its going to be a LONG process and its going to drive me CRAZY but I just can't see spending $65 for just a haircut every 6 weeks any more!!!

  5. I LOVE to make lists and cross things off...see I am doing it now and I am having FUN (haha). I make lists for everything - chores, grocery, parties, holidays, you name it and I have a list for it and once I have a bunch crossed off I will retype the list and start over!!

  6. I also love paper and office supplies and scrapbook supplies!! I love all the different colors and shapes of paper, ink, stickers, pens, paperclips, scissors, desk organizor stuff, calendars - all that stuff - I had a job once where I ordered office supplie...oh I was in heaven and that supply cabinet was always stocked and completely color coded and organized - I loved it!!!

  7. I am like Linus from the Charlie Brown shows - you will always find me with a blanket or sevearal blankets. Doesn't matter if its summer or winter I always have at least a comfortor and at least one or two blankets on top of that when sleeping or lounging on the couch! My poor husband thinks I am crazy!! But I am always FREEZING and I usually have pants, sweatshirt and socks on too!

Hope that wasn't too boring..haha! It was fun to do!

Bloggers I am nominater are:

Sarah at LifeSweetLife

Mandi at Crable Family Adventures

Everyone else already has the award and those others that I would have nominated are private blogs!

Busy Busy Baby Boy

Well we have been busy busy busy around here. Baby boy had his first plane ride last weekend and he did FABULOUS!!!! Thanks to everyone for all the great tips and suggestions! I overpacked and took too much but I would have rather that than not had enough! He slept the whole way there (woke about 10 minutes before landing) and slept the whole way back, I had to wake him to get off the plane. He had a small bottle (about 4 ozs) on the way there and a was ready for a full feeding (7 ozs) on the way home and both worked like a charm!! One guy who sat behind us joked on the way there that he was allergic to screaming, crying babies - I told him I was not making any guarantees so he might want to keep heading to the back of the plane - his wife said not to pay any attention to him he has 4 children of his own - haha - then once we landed he told me how great Baby boy had been!

Also this week we have a ROLLER! For the past month Baby boy has rolled a few time from belly to back but nothing consistent and he had not rolled from back to belly at all. Well as of yesterday he now rolls from his back to belly like he has been doing to forever! It is the cutest thing ever! Once he gets over on his belly he gets up on his forearms and looks around like what am I supposed to do now..haha! He hasn't figured out how to roll back over to his back yet without ALOT of work, but he will figure it out in no time! For now we just leave him on his belly to try and figure things out and he just sqirms around until he gets mad.

He has also learned how to blow raspberries and this is the funniest thing too! He sort of started it over the weekend on our trip. But the last few days he has really picked up on doing it and he will just be jibber-jabbing to you and then here come the raspberries and a bunch of slobber with them so you better be on the look out for them!

My heart couldn't be more full of love for this little man. Just when you think it couldn't get any better it does. He amazes me everyday with the new things he is learning, big and small and I love to watch him grow. He is just the comedian these days and constantly has me laughing. What a blessing he is in our lives!!!!

First Airplane Trip

So Baby boy is getting ready to go on his first airplane trip soon. I am not fond of plane trips to begin with, I am okay once we get in the air, but its the taking off and landing that making me nervous, and now I will have him on top of all that so mama is even more nervous this time around.

Any suggestions from those of you who have traveled with little ones before....I checked with the airline and they said I could have his bottle ready and it was okay to go through security (they won't make me dump it out since its for an infant) so he can drink it on take off and and landing to help pop his ears. The hotel has a crib for him, I am taking his car seat and stoller....what else besides the obvious......clothes, diapers, etc....

I am getting nauseous thinking about that plane ride....deep breaths.....

Thanks in advance!

4 Months Old

My baby boy is 4 months old!!! He went to the doctor today for his 4 month well baby visit and he is growing growing growing!!! He is now 15 lbs and 25 inches long - mama was SO excited to here this!!!! I knew he was getting long but I guess wrong on his weight (I guessed lower). If you could see all that he spits up you would have never guess he gained this much, but I knew he was gaining because his cheeks and thighs are filling out!!! Doctor said he is perfect but we already knew this!

He is rolling over some, not much but she said he will really start to pick this up around 5 months - he is all too happy to stay on his back and play, he is not a fan of tummy time at all. He has been on rice cereal for about a month now and she said we can alternate between rice and oatmeal. He has been more hungry so we can now give him his rice on a spoon 3 times a day along with his bottles and apple juice (he started this about a week ago to help with constipation). You would think this little man would be full all the time but I tell you he can pack it away!!!!

He also went for his 4 month shots today and he didn't like those at all! He screamed horribly and I felt awful watching him get them, it just broke my heart. Needless to say he has had a rough afternoon since and just has not been himself, hopefully he will feel better tomorrow.

Sleepless in the Midwest

Well my son has decided that we really don't need much sleep at night. He went from sleeping through the night, which he has done since he was 5 weeks old to as of last night getting up several times during the night. Mommy is very very tired. He has been really fighting me when I have swaddled him when getting him ready for bed and he usually has some how houdinied (I make up words now) some part (arm, leg) out by one of his many wakings. He first decided that 4:15/4:30 a.m. would be a good time to get up and that we needed to stay up for the day at that time, then he decided that wasn't early enough so he thought he would try 3:15/3:30 a.m. for a couple of days...nope not early enough he decided last night that he would get up at 1:00 a.m., eat, go back to sleep since mommy just left me here, get back up at 4:00 a.m., go back to sleep after 30 minutes of mommy holding my paci in since she is NOT going to feed me again and get up again at 5:00 and then 5:15 and mommy then realizes that my diaper is SOAKED and feels bad!!!

Last night was the first night that he slepted in his sleep sack all night and was not swaddled, so I am guessing that is why he was up so much - those darn startle reflexes!!! But he is putting up such a fight being swaddled and is getting too long for the miracle blanket and the other one (I can't think of the name now...). I did try increasing his formula over the weekend thinking he might be going through a growth spurt and he just spit up SO much that I put him back to where he was....

Any thoughts or suggests AGAIN on this would be greatly appreciated....mommy needs here sleep back...she has to function at work!! UUGGHH. For right now my game plan is to keep putting him in the sleep sack and not swaddle him and hope that he just needs to get used to this and maybe after a week (oh a whole week of no sleep - can I do this....) that he will get back into his routine sleeping again.

But at what point do I let him cry it out....he would really just like me to hold his paci in for eternity...but my arm is going to fall off....my baby boy is not spoiled...no not him!!! :)

Light of our lives!

Each day I look at our son and I am in awe at just how perfect he is in every way and how we are so much in love with him and how blessed we are to have him as our son. As a matter of fact he just woke up from one of his many "power naps" with the most beautiful smile on his face that just lights up my world - I live for those smiles!

Work is getting better, I go to work and can't wait until its time to RUSH home to baby boy! Nothing else matters once I get home and we just do fun things him until its time for his bath and bedtime. Housework is a thing of the past...well at least it waits until the weekend. Baby boy has rolled over about 4 times from belly to back and really doesn't like it at all!!! We tried working to roll from back to belly tonight and he is SO close but he gets mad and quits because he can't quite figure it out yet - but he is not far from being able to do it! He is reaching for EVERYTHING these days and I love watching him do it. He concentrates so hard on what he wants to get and both hands head in at the same time to pick it up and most of the time they reach their target, sometimes they are off and he tries again! He loves to sit in his exersaucer and bumbo seat because he is able to sit up and see everything that is going on. I think that is why he is not crazy about laying on the floor because he feels like he is missing out on something.

I am so excited for all my bloggy friends. Thanks for all your comments and suggestions!!! You guys are the best!! Its so nice to have friends that are going through or have went through the same struggles/journeys as you!
