A day in the life of my son!

So I just had to share that my little guy is the funniest little man on earth!! He can turn a bad day into a great one with just his smile or with something funny he says or does!!! He is an early talker and talks like he is 3....mind you he is only 20 months!!! He blows my mind everyday with the things he says and we have to be very careful with what we say because he will not only repeat it but he remembers it and says it to you days later when you think he should have forgotten it!!!

Some funny things he has been saying lately that I say to him are "I miss you" (I was just out of town for the weekend so he says this all the time now....so cute), and my all-time favorite is "hi honey!!!" I LOVE this and its the funniest and cutest saying ever and he just laughs when he says it because he knows its cute!!! Just out of the blue he will turn around and look at me and go "hi honey"....just melts my heart!!

Now some not so cute sayings....and I hope its a boy thing and a QUICK phase he is going through is "hit so and so" or "kick so and so"..... this is SO embarassing and my little man has spent his fair share in time out lately!!! My brother thinks its a boy thing because my 3 nieces were into pinching and not hitting or kicking! I just really want my sweet, cuddling baby boy back.....I really think he got the kicking because he just finished up with soccer a few weeks ago.

Anyway just wanted to share his cuteness and how he just brightens my day with his words and how funny he is!!!

For those of you with little ones I would love to hear what fun sayings they have....or not so fun sayings!!!

Calm before the storm....

Well much has happened since my last post! I am starting a new full-time job on Monday...yes this coming Monday!!! I am really excited about my new job but really sad to not be home with my little man. Its going to be hard to leave him now then it was when I went back to work when he was 3 months old. He was 10 months when I got laid off in March and he is now 18 months and these last 8 months have been AMAZING!!! I have not taken one day for granted because I knew this day would one day come! Who I feel sorry the most for is everyone around us because he is so attached to me and can't stand for me to be out of the room....so when I am gone all day everyday...he will be crabby for the first few days and so will I!!! Probably best to just stay clear of us for awhile...that first weekend will just be him and I...oh and some Christmas shopping because it is Thanksgiving weekend and we always shop till we drop!

So onto this new job! I am really excited, I will be an administrative/clincial assistant for a general surgeon. It will also lead to research coordinator for a clinical trial they will be doing in the near future so lots of opportunities which is really exciting. The people I have met and talked with so far have been great and its near another department I used to work so I can catch up with some old friends!

We are gearing up for Thanksgiving around here! I LOVE this time of year. We always have everyone here, I love to entertain and I love to plan big holidays like this! My favorite is after everyone eats and we just hang out and play games and go through the ads for the next day. Now what I am not real happy about this year is that so many stores are opening at midnight or earlier...that time should be really spent with family and shopping is okay to start at 4:00 am but shouldn't be creeping in any sooner on Thanksgiving day! I love that all my family helps prepare Thanksgiving dinner and all the kids come over and play - little man will be so excited - he LOVES his cousins!!!

We are all getting over some nasty sinus crud right now and little man is fighing with some teeth coming in too, about 3 or 4 right now. So hopefully we all feel much better by next week. But I am very thankful for a very healthy family, thankful they all live close and we get to spend so much time together and I am thankful for all our friends who are always here for us as well!

We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

Life Happenings

Its been forever since I have been on here. I check on on all of you everyday and comment on your blogs, but just don't have the time to do my own posts very often anymore. Life has just been busy around here lately to say the least! I don't really know what I did before I was laid off from my job in March or where I found the time to do things....

Since getting laid of I have mostly enjoyed my time staying home with my son and soaking up every moment of it! He is almost 18 months now and I just really don't know where the time goes...by to quickly I do know that!!! He has changed so much over the last 3 months it just amazes me. First he got is 1st big boy hair cut and as hard as that was I LOVE it, but he definitely looks like a big boy now and not a baby, but that is okay because I love where he is right now!

He talks up a storm - if you can say it he can say it, so in other words around here its be careful what you say!!! He is a little sponge and soaks up everything we do and say and is the funniest little guy I know! However, he has picked up one bad habit....the word NO...he loves to use it for EVERYTHING these days and when he says it he means it!!! And if he wants something then he will say okay...so you really do know if he wants it or not, so don't make him mad because he does have a temper...its that redheadedness coming out in him....I know my mom and brother both have it!!! I love hearing him work on his A,B, C's and his 1,2,3's all out of order but its very cute...we try to work on colors but everything is BLUE!!! He does a ton of animal sounds but my overall favorite is the donkey!!! He is also now playing soccer, well they don't actually play soccer until 3, but they do skill sets and they play red light, green light; build cone towers, bubbles and play with the parachute - he LOVES this and it gets some of his energy out! He likes to play soccer in the house at home all the time... he is actually really good at kicking the ball! So now everything round is a soccer ball!

As for me I have started selling Premier Designs Jewelry and I love it. I get to work when I want and still get all the time with his as I want so it all works out. I have made some amazing friendships already and I can't wait to see what the future in it holds for me. With my unemployment I have to apply to 3 jobs a week and I actually got called for a interview for a really interesting job. I am waiting to hear back if I got it or not, they were really impressed with my education and work background but I lack the medical background which doesn't scare me. I have worked in the medical field before you just have to plung in and pick up that departments terminology and work hard from there to learn, I love new challenges...so we will see. I am torn though because that means time away from my son and that is really going to be hard, harder than right after he was born and I went back to work.

I have also had some personal struggles going on that I am dealing with and just not sure how to move on from them or where to go from here. I am putting alot of faith in God to lead me in the right direction because I am not sure what that is....

But life is great for the most part and my little guy is the best part about it and I love waking up everyday to see what he is going to do or say that day to make me laugh!!! We are excited for Halloween Saturday and can't wait to dress him up and take him out...I love hearing him say "trick or treat'....now the question is will he say it when we go out???

Hope everyone is enjoying fall as much as we are...we love this time of year...its what comes next that I don't like, I could skip it and head straight for spring!!!

Florida and other ramblings...

Yes, I know this is waaaay late but we are just a busy bunch around here right now! I do check up on every one and post comments here and there but we would much rather be outside these days than inside on the computer!!!
Well we had a BLAST in Florida and we didn't want to come home! I have just a water baby is not even funny! He really didn't want anything to do with playing in the sand he wanted in the water all the time. And the funny thing was there he wasn't interested in the pool at the condo is was the OCEAN he LOVED!!! We were playing in the waves every day but he usually only lasted about an hour to an hour and a half and then he was exhausted and it was time for a nap!

After nap time we were usually of for some other types of adventures. We have family in Florida so we met up with them, we went on boat rides, found a favorite restaurant and ate there several times at night - it was open so you could see the little marina and the eckrets and the atmosphere was great! And this little man grabbed the attention of all the wait staff everywhere we went - everyone just fell in love with him - he is just so funny!!

We had the best time there and it was bitter sweet to come home but daddy really missed us!!!

Then about a month ago we had several storms come through and we had just got home and in the garage and I was getting little man out and lightening hit our house!!!! Holy cow talk about scary! My husband didn't know we were home, he was working on the dryer and got shocked a little, came running out to see what in the world had happened! The neighbor across the street came running over and told me what happened! Nothing caught on fire and my husband is okay, we ended up losing a bunch of electrical stuff and are still in the midst of getting everything taken care of! So needless to say I no longer like storms!!!!

My mom got an above ground pool at her house about 2 weeks ago so we have really been enjoying that!!! The water is finally starting to warm up which is really nice and today was great, we just got home a little while ago from being in the pool since about 2:00 this afternoon (with a nap in there!!!).

So that is where we have been! Just enjoying the weather with swimming, walks, playing with the cousins and family and life couldn't be any better right now! We hope you all are enjoying your summer too!!!!

You say its my Birthday!

Well, this is a little late coming....but we have just be so busy there are not enough hours in the day....but without further ado....

Baby boys 1st birthday! I had a BLAST planning his party! I love to do this kind of stuff so I had been planning this for months! He loves to play with cars and trucks so we went with a construction theme....you would think it would be easy to find stuff...but not so much so I had to do some digging on some of the stuff and I made some of the other stuff!

I had been watching the weather the week before and had hoped the rain would hold off...but we had showers off and on but that didn't stop us from having a great party! Everyone showed up and he had so much fun playing with all the kids!
Here are pictures of the kids tables, party favors and his present table....

Next up is his cake (my Aunt makes cakes and she made these I almost didn't let anyone eat it because it was so awesome and I loved it!!!), a picture my niece free handed and painted (she is only 12!!!) and some more party decorations (the Happy Birthday sign and the #1 balloon I made)...

Here is Baby Boys version of his birthday....

All these friends and family start coming over and I really am not sure why everyone is here but hey I'm game I'll play with you! Wait someone is breaking out lots of great food and drinks and I am all about food these days.....let's eat!

After we eat mommy puts my in my highchair, which is all wrapped up in some yellow tablecloth, but whatever, and everyone is just looking at me...not sure why...then I see mommy with this humungus cake...is it, could it be for me, she is heading my way...oh I sure hope so, I do love cake!!!

Yes, everyone sings Hap.py Birth.day to me (I love this, I have waited for someone to sing this to me I see them do this in the restaurant to other people all the time and I LOVE it!!!) and I get some cake! This is my favorite part of the day, I could eat cake every day if mommy and daddy would let me...but of course they don't! I was very nice digging into my cake you see because I wanted to make sure I got every little piece into my mouth! I was very laid back and took my time....then mommy took it away way too soon, but then I got to play again so it was all good!

I had alot of presents to open but I really wasn't into all that, I helped with about the first two then I had mommy and daddy open the rest, I just wanted to play! And I was more into playing with the tissue paper, it was lots of fun!!!I think my favorite gift I got was from my grandma-great and it was a wagon and we go for walks all the time and I think I am big stuff in it! I also got a sand/water table, a soccer ball (I am going to play in the fall), books, some little people, and airplane and lots of other cool stuff! I also got lots of clothes which I really needed, I thought I was going to have to go naked soon as I had out grown all my clothes so fast, I really jumped from 9 months to 18 months fast, I really wasn't in those 12 months for very long...like a few days I think!

Any way it was the best and coolest 1st birthday party ever and I was so glad all my family and friends were able to come and celebrate it with me....that is what its really all about!!!

Well....I am tired now...so that's a wrap!
Baby Boy

We have a walker!!!

Baby boy is now 11 months, where does the time go!!! He is doing so much since last month its crazy!! He says several words now mama, mom, dada, more, ball, he will moo for a cow, quack like a duck, he claps, plays patty-cake, if your happy and you know it and so much more! I just can't believe how big this baby boy of ours is getting!! He understands so much more than what he can talk right now it just amazes me what he knows and what he can do at this age!

But the craziest of all is he is walking!!! He is still just a beginner and doesn't do it all the time but he is starting to do it more and more and go further each time! He started taking steps at about 10 1/2 months and now he is getting really brave and just takes off. Sometimes he is really funny and either wants to get to you really fast or get away from you really fast and tries to like run and he doesn't get very far its the funniest thing ever to watch him try to go so fast, his little legs just are ready for what his mind wants him to do!!!

We are having fun planning his birthday and we can't believe that he is going to be a year old in just a month. I still have days that I just can't believe that he is our son and I just can't imagine our lives without him. He brings us so much joy and laughter even when he is pulling picture frames off tables, banging on the glass tables and trying to rip the wires out of the walls (he has a fetish for wires - he loves them and we have everything plugged up that is empty but not much we can do about the lamps on the tables...have to have light in the rooms!!). He has a laugh that is so contagious that he just makes you laugh no matter what he is doing! He is a happy baby and really only cries if he is tired.

We just got back from Tennessee and our trip was great. He did really good on the drive there but on the way back about the last 2 hours he was done and cried alot. He was so ready to be out of the car. We put Cars on for awhile but I had to drive and then reach back and hold his hand because he really wanted me to hold him and I couldn't, he was just so tired but wouldn't go to sleep. But he was so good on the trip. He had a great time playing with his 3 cousins, he really loves them alot and they are so good with him!! The trip was nice and relaxing and I loved being able to spend the time with my family with nothing else to worry about. Can't wait until we go to Florida next month!!

I finally got all the metal brackets out of my mouth from it being wired shut about 2 weeks ago. I will say it has not been easy. I have to work at stretching my mouth which is really painful and the left side (where my incision is and where all my TMJ pain was) is still swollen and numb. I have no idea when the swelling will go away but I have a hard time chewing on that side because the food gets stuck because of the swelling...as for the numbess well that could be permanent or it could last for several months I won't know for probably 4 -6 months if its going to go away or not...its pretty annoying right now hopefully its something I will get used to. I think right now its still all new and still pretty sore which is to be expected, I think I just need to be more patient. The good thing is I can eat whatever I want I just have to take it slow.

Well this past month home with little man has been so much fun and I am so glad I have been home to see everything new he is learning and its fun teaching him new things. I am still looking for a job but so far haven't gotten any calls....so for now I will enjoy my time with my little growing baby boy!!
